The Air-to-Ground Radio System is a VHF system that enables ground stations to communicate with aircraft within a certain radius of an airport, facilitating airline operations such as exchanging passenger information, preparing tools, spares, fuel, and oil supplies, and providing medical services.
The Air-to-Ground Radio system is composed of the following components
- The Air-to-Ground Base Station (A/G Base Station) is used to facilitate communication between the air and ground within a 200-nautical-mile radius around the station.
- The Remote Control Unit (RCU), installed in the base station’s office, facilitates long-range control and communication.
- The Air-to-Ground Handie-Talkie is a handheld communication radio that can be used to communicate between aircraft and ground within a 10-nautical mile radius.
- The Air-to-Ground Car Radio (A/G Radio Mobile) is a radio communication system installed in vehicles for mobility. The radio is designed for air-to-ground communications within a 50-nautical-mile radius.
- The Air-to-Ground Mobile Radio (A/G Radio for Desktop) can be installed in the ground station. The radio is designed for air-to-ground communications within a 150-nautical-mile radius.
Ground-to-Ground
Ground-to-Ground is a radio communication system that allows agencies to coordinate and execute ground operations safely, efficiently, and timely. This type of radio can be divided into two categories:
– Single Channel Radio (Conventional Radio) is provided in locations with smaller perimeters and a small number of users, such as smaller airports.
– The Trunked Service is provided in areas with large perimeters and many network users within the coverage area. The company currently uses TETRA digital trunked audio to provide services at major airports and to energy agencies. Trunked radio services include:
– Radios for normal communication and emergency communications that are intrinsically or non-intrinsically safe. These radios are made from IP67-rated durable materials that comply with Ingress Protection Standards. The intrinsically-safe model is compliant with ATEX/FM/UL and can prevent sparking or fire. These radios can be used in locations where there is a higher explosion risk. This system provides clear sound quality, even in noisy environments, and the display screen has bright, large font sizes. The batteries are long-lasting, and the units come with an alarm system that alerts you when the battery is low.
– Easy-to-use communication radio stations and radios for automotive installations that work well in noisy environments and are durable.
– The Transmitter and Receiver (AMSS Terminal TX & RX) are used to transmit and receive flight information using a program named the AEROTHAI user agent (UA) through the Aeronautical Telecommunication Network. Flight information is transmitted via this system, including:
– Notices to Airmen (NOTAM), both domestic and foreign
– Flight approvals, flight plans, and other documents
– Aviation Meteorology (MET)
Other Security Information
Users of the equipment can create, submit, and receive flight plans. They also have access to preflight briefings that support safety and efficient preflight operations.
